Refrigerated van conversion
You buy the van you want; we turn it into a refrigerated vehicle — seamlessly lined insulation, the right Carrier unit, up to 5 tonnes, in our own workshop in Hooglede.

Conversion options
Which class you need follows from what you haul and how your route runs — not the other way round. Below is what each one is for in practice; which it turns out to be, we work out together.
Option 1ISOCAR insulationCooling from -5°C to +25°CNot ATP-certifiableThis insulation is specially designed for transport at positive temperatures and is ideal for applications where ATP certification is not required, such as national transport within Belgium and the Netherlands.Read more
Option 2Insulation package-30°C to +30°CATP-certifiableWith this insulation package you can chill, freeze and heat. The packages are ATP-tested and so can be certified for international transport.Read more
Option 3Multi-temperature2 compartmentsThe same type of insulation as the insulation package, with the load space divided into two compartments.Read more
What happens to your van
A panel van does not become a refrigerated van by having a unit bolted to it. The load space becomes an insulated box first; only then is there something a unit can hold a temperature in.

- The insulationThe load space is fully lined with seamlessly joined panels and a hygienic finish that stands up to daily cleaning. That lining decides the temperature you reach; how thick it needs to be follows from your load — we work it out for you up front.See the insulation types
- The doorsEvery door opening costs temperature, so the insulation runs right around the load space. Where there is frequent loading and unloading, strip curtains go across the opening; door seals and strip curtains we repair too.Refrigerated bodywork repairs
- The refrigeration unitAs an authorised Carrier Transicold distributor we fit the full range ourselves. On a panel van, roof mounting is the most common; bulkhead mounting keeps the roof clear and the overall height low.Discover our refrigeration units
- The fit-outMeat rails for hanging carcasses, bulkheads for two temperatures in one run, storage systems that keep the load space usable. Tell us what goes in and how often the doors open.See all the options
What decides which class is achievable
Three things at once, and they trade against each other. That is why a conversion starts with your load and your route, rather than with a choice from a list.
The insulation
Thicker panels hold the cold in better and take up more room. What you gain in temperature you give up in load volume — which is why the conversation starts with what you haul, not with a panel thickness.
The refrigeration unit
The unit has to cope with whatever the insulation lets through, plus everything that comes in at each door opening. A city round with twenty stops asks something different from a single delivery three hundred kilometres out.
The vehicle
The van itself sets the limit: its maximum authorised mass decides what payload is left once the insulation and the unit are on it. We work that out for you up front, so you are not running a vehicle that is already overweight on paper.
And ATP?
ATP is not a temperature but a certification. For international transport of perishable goods it is compulsory; for national transport it is not. We build the insulation so that your vehicle passes the inspection, and we guide you through certification and periodic re-inspection.
